　　It was a Friday morning in the city of Pasadena. Today is Maria's birthday. Mike wants to celebrate by taking Maria out to eat. Maria's favorite place to eat breakfast is at the pancake house. Mike knew that Maria had not been to the pancake house in a long time.

After Mike wraps her gift, he grabbed the balloons he bought and quietly entered the bedroom where Maria was sleeping in. He sets down her gift besides her, and quietly wakes her up.
