Let’s Buy Some Paint
(让我们去买油漆吧)
“Let’s go to Wal-Mart,” Elizabeth told Kenneth.
“我们去沃尔玛，”伊丽莎白告诉肯尼斯。
She wanted to buy some paint supplies.
她想买一些油漆用品。
He suggested that they go to Home Depot instead because employees there could tell them exactly what to buy.
他建议他们去家得宝，因为那里的员工可以告诉他们究竟要买什么。
After arriving there, Elizabeth found a friendly looking worker who was momentarily free.
到了那里后，伊丽莎白找到一个看起来友好的工作人员，他刚好空闲。
“Excuse me,” she said. “Could you help us?”
“打扰了，”她说，“你能帮我们吗?”
She explained that she wanted to paint her office.
她解释说她想粉刷她的办公室。
“Neither me nor my husband knows how to do it, so please tell us the basics,” she added.

He smiled and told her that it was simple.

All they needed were two gallons of white glossy paint, a roller, a tray and an insert to pour the paint in, and an extension-handle to reach the high parts of each wall.

“Don’t we need primer?” Kenneth asked.

Let it dry for a couple of hours.

As they were putting the items into the trunk, Kenneth told her they should buy a ladder, too.

“We’re going to have to use the brush to paint up near the ceiling.

The roller won’t do in a corner,” Kenneth said.

They went back inside and bought a stepladder.

重点知识讲解：
“Don’t we need primer?” Kenneth asked.
“我们不需要底漆吗?”肯尼思问。
negative questions 指的是英语中一般疑问句的否定形式，比如“Do you like summer?”是一般疑问句，而“Don’t you like summer?”则是否定疑问句。如:
Isn’t that a beautiful hat?
用来感叹“帽子非常漂亮”。
除此之外否定一般疑问句还可以用了表示反问、建议、邀请等等。
