A Shower Injury
(淋浴受伤)
Ben leaned over the edge of the tub.
本靠在浴缸边缘。
He turned on the hot and cold water faucets.
他打开热水和凉水的水龙头。
The water came out of the spout near the top of the tub.
水从浴缸顶附近的喷口流出。
He pushed down on the lever beneath the spout so that the water would drain.
他推下了壶嘴下的杠杆，这样水就会流走。
He was going to take a shower, not a bath.
他要洗淋浴，而不是泡澡。
He tested the temperature.
他试了下温度。
It wasn’t hot enough.
还不够热。
He adjusted the hot water faucet.

There was another handle between the hot and cold faucets.

This one controlled whether water came out of the spout or out of the shower head.

Ben turned it all the way to the right.

Ben took off his robe and stepped over the top of the tub.

He grabbed the bar of soap out of the soap dish and started scrubbing his face.

While his eyes were closed to keep out the soap, he put the soap back into the dish.

Then he reached for the big plastic container of shampoo on his window ledge.
然后他伸手去拿窗台上的装洗发水的大塑料容器。
The bottle slipped out of his hands and landed on his left foot.
瓶子从他手里滑落，砸到了他的左脚。
"Shoot!" Ben said angrily.
“倒霉!”本生气地说。
That hurt.
他的左脚受伤了。

本则故事中， ‘It wasn’t hot enough. 水还不够热。’ 这句话里面‘enough’ 可做形容词表示“充足的”，也可做副词表示“足够地”。
