Warmer:
1. Stick the pictures of unit 1 on the board. Have the students come to the front and mime the text of unit 1.
2. Say a sentence in the present tense and get the students say it in the past tense.
Examples:

T: Grandma meets Daming.
Ss: Gradma met Daming.
Teach the text:
1. Raise the picture of the Statue of Liberty and ask: What is it ? Where is it?”
Guide the students say: It’s the statue of Liberty. It’s in New York”.

2. Play the tape. Have the students listen and underline the new words in books.

一、教材简析
九年义务教育小学英语教科书(PEP Primary English)是根据《九年义务教育全日制小学、初级中学课程计划(试行)》的精神和1990年5月人民教育出版社制订的《小学英语教学与教材编写纲要》的目的要求编写的，供六年制小学三-六年级使用。全书共8册，每学期一册。
本套教材的编写，参考了国内外先进的语言教学理论，吸取了直接法、听说法、交际法和全身反应法等各教学法的优点，考虑到儿童的心理、生理及年龄特点，结合我国国情，继承和发扬了我国自己行之有效的教学方法，以激发学生的兴趣，调动他们的积极性和求知欲。
教材在编写中尽量做到教学内容浅显易懂、生动活泼、分量适度、易于入门。教学内容的编写由浅入深、由易到难、点面结合、循环往复不断复现，以加深学生的印象。教学中要求教师在交际中听说，兼顾语法结构，以便于教学，易于接受，同时做好中小学衔接工作。
二、教学目的、要求
1、使儿童获得一些英语感性知识，激发他们学习英语的兴趣和培养能力，使学生敢于大胆开口说英语。
2、打下较好的语音、语调和书写基础。
3、养成良好的学习习惯，为进一步学习英语奠定初步的基础。
4、能听、说、读、写81个短语和单词，以及16组句子和11个单句(要求能在真实语境中使用并能读懂简单短语篇)。

三、教学重难点：
1、各课、各单元中的四会词、句。
2、在逼真的情景中练习英语会话并发展用英语进行交际的能力。
3、打好语音、语调和书写基础。
四、实施措施：
1、教学会话时，教师要使自己全身心地进入角色。如果可能，尽量以现身说法或表现法，使学生仿佛置身于实际情景之中，从而理解会话的含义，以加深印象，帮助记忆。
2、教学词汇、句型或常用的表达方式时，可与会话教学结合起来。要尽量利用该课中会话的情景，或用卡片、图片、投影片及其他事物、模型、玩具、剪贴画等使学生边学习边体会所学词语在实际生活中的应用，同时培养学生直接用英语思维的习惯。
3、语音教学要贯穿于小学英语教学的全过程，要贯彻教学始终。但要注意所用的语气要和缓，利于学生接受。
4、要将学生的英语学习融于各种形式的活动中去。
5、课堂上，尽量使用英语组织教学。无论课上、课下师生间相互招呼、问候、道谢、道歉或教师发指令让学生活动或奖励评估等等都尽量用简短的英语说。

新的学期已经来临，为使教学工作顺利开展，我特制定如下计划：
(一)学生情况分析
本班学生英语基础较差，接受新知识速度参差不齐，但学习英语的积极性也很高，能按时完成作业，但个别学生书写不认真。所以本学期应抓好学生良好的学习习惯，引导学生端正学习态度，掌握良好的学习方法。
(二)学期教学目标和奋斗目标
1、形成学习英语的兴趣和爱好，形成在动态真实的环境中使用英语进行活动的积极性。
2、能运用英语在日常学校生活和课堂情景中与老师和同学进行的日常口头交际，如问候有关个人、家庭和朋友的简单信息。
3、能参加运用英语组织和开展日常课堂教学和生活游戏及其他课内外活动，做到大胆开口，发音正确。
4、能听懂指令并做成适当的反应，能读懂配图小故事，能根据
图片进行简要的口头描述，能唱教过的英语歌曲，并诵读一些英语诗歌和歌谣。
5、养成响亮清晰读英语、说英语的习惯，认真模仿语音、语调，以培养语感。
6、培养学生良好的书写习惯，能做到书写整洁、规范。
7、乐于了解英语国家儿童的兴趣和爱好及外国人的风俗习惯。
(三)教材重点难点
1、能按四会、三会的要求掌握所学单词。
2、能按四会要求掌握所学句型。
3、能使用日常交际用语，活用四会句型，进行简单的交流，做 到大胆开口，发音正确。
4、能在图片、手势、情境等非语言提示的帮助下，听懂清晰的话语和录音
5、养成良好的书写习惯，能做到书写整洁、规范。
(四)主要教学措施
1、以活动为课堂教学的主要形式，设计丰富多彩的教学活动，让学生在乐中学、学中用，从而保证学生英语学习的可持续性发展。勤于观察学生掌握知识的情况，多向学生介绍学习英语的方法。
2、通过听、说、读、写、唱、游、演、画、做等形式，进行大量的语言操练和练习。充分利用教学用具运用录音磁带帮助学生正音将直观教具和电教手段，多媒体课件相结合，培养学生良好的朗读习惯，打下良好的语音语调基础。
3、设计全面、高效、富有层次性的课外作业，培养学生良好的书写习惯，做到整洁、规范、正确地书写。
4、教学中要采用多种教学手段激发学生学习兴趣。进行：“比、学、赶、帮”活动。通过多种竞赛形式，检验学生英语掌握情况，课堂上尽可能照顾后进生，面向全体学生。
5.根据小组竞赛加分的形式，把每班分成多个英语学习小组采取学生自主管理，老师指导的方式，督促学生自觉完成作业、背单词的任务。
6.教授英语国家风土人情、历史、文化、民俗时，适时对学生渗透思想品德教育。让孩子们扬长避短、汲取其他国家比较进步的思想，加强对祖国文化的热爱。
