　　Rex does the B.I.Zness

　　NOT everyone is born with a unique talent or a silver spoon in their mouth. However, this doesn't mean that ordinary people can't achieve amazing success.

　　Rex Yu, 22, believes "anyone can achieve something great". This has been the motto for him and his rock band B.I.Z since they were at school.

　　"I don't want to follow the traditional route (途径) to success established by others," Rex said in an interview with Teens. "I want to seize the right moment, work hard and surprise everyone in life."

　　The 2006 My Show winner and his band released their second album You've Got Him on Your Mind (《心里有个他》) in Beijing on December 6. The three members want to convey in their new CD the idea that young people have to "go bravely after their dreams and speak out about their love".

　　In recent years, Rex has won numerous music awards. "Rex's performance on the stage is so explosive (有爆发力)," says Wang Rong, a 17-year-old girl in Beijing. "You just can't believe a newcomer can have such power and control on stage."

　　However, before Rex's music career took off, he was on his way to becoming a professional football player. He left his Shanghai home and attended a football school at the age of 11 in Guangxi. Rex spent three years there honing (磨练) his football skills. Then Shanghai Shenhua football club signed him.

　　However, Rex found he wasn't physically fit enough to be a top player. So, he went back to school.

　　His passion was rekindled (重新点燃) when he saw a band performing live on campus. Then Rex spent all his days thinking about being a rock singer. He was picked up as B.I.Z's lead vocalist (主唱).

　　"We had hard days when we couldn't even afford meals to eat," he said. "Now we have succeeded, but we'll keep our down-to-earth attitude towards music."
